鎌倉幕府
鎌倉幕府は、源頼朝が創設した日本の武家政権です。
吾妻鏡によれば、1180年に鎌倉に頼朝の邸となる大倉御所と侍所が設置されて武家政権の実態が形成されました。
朝廷は1183年で頼朝に対し、東国での荘園等からの年貢納入と東国支配権を公認しました。
1185年に頼朝は平氏を滅ぼし、朝廷は頼朝へ与えられた諸国への守護・地頭職の設置・任免を許可しました。
1192年には頼朝に征夷大将軍の宣下がなされ、名実ともに武家政権として成立することとなりました。以降1867年まで武家政権が続きます。
何故鎌倉に幕府を開いたのかは三点あるといえます。鎌倉が頼朝の先祖ゆかりの土地だったこと。西、北、東の三方が山に囲まれ防御しやすかったこと、南側が海で交易がしやすいことです。
1333年に鎌倉幕府は滅亡しましたが、今も観光地として人気です。
