２０１６年に死去した英歌手デビッド・ボウイさんにちなみ、パリ市内の道路がデビッド・ボウイ通りと命名され、ボウイさんの７７歳の誕生日にあたる８日に開通式が行われた。
「デヴィッド・ボウイ通り」の構想は、ロック界の象徴的存在だったボウイのファンでもあるパリ13区の区長が2020年の初め頃に考案したもので、パリ市の承認も得ていた。
ボウイさんに詳しいジャーナリストは、ボウイさんはパリに愛着を感じており、「ここは彼が大好きだった街だから。ここには美術館があって、ナイトクラブがあって、彼が愛した全てがある」と回想した。
