プロ野球で最年長のヤクルトの石川雅規投手が、楽天戦で史上初めて、新人の年から23年連続で勝利をあげた。
23年連続での勝利記録は、工藤公康さん、山本昌さん、三浦大輔さんと同じだが、新人の年から連続は、石川投手が初めてとなる。
彼はこれからについて「年齢や勝利数、200勝等を意識せずに、チームの勝利に貢献できるように、また一つ一つ準備していきたい」と試合後語った。
