史上2番目に大きい2492カラットのダイヤモンド原石が、アフリカのボツワナで発掘されたとカナダの採掘会社ルカラ・ダイヤモンド（Lucara Diamond）が発表した。
価値や品質は明らかにしていないが、カラット数は1905年に南アフリカで見つかった3106カラットのカリナンダイヤモンド（Cullinan Diamond）に次いで史上2番目に大きい。
ダイヤ原石はボツワナ大統領にも披露され、会社担当者が彼の手に原石を載せると、その大きさに大統領は驚いていた。
