郡上市の「牧歌の里」でスリッパを飛ばして飛距離を競う大会が開かれ、予選を勝ち抜いたおよそ200人が参加した。
芝生広場では参加者がスリッパを履いた足を勢いよく振り上げて次々と飛ばし、大人の中には最長およそ22メートル飛ばす人もいた。
スリッパ飛ばし大会の参加費は、病院で闘病中の子どもたちを元気づけるホスピタル・クラウン活動に全額寄付される。
