アメリカフロリダ州で開かれたチアリーディングの世界大会「ザ・サミット」で、初出場ながら、見事2位に輝いたのが須坂市を拠点に活動する「須坂コルツ」のトップチーム「スパーク」だ。
18人のメンバーの「スパーク」は、去年3月の全国大会で世界大会の出場権を獲得した後1年かけて、夢の舞台に向け、厳しい練習を重ねてきた。
ハードルとなったひとり70万円ほどの渡航費もクラウドファンディングや募金、地元企業からの支援など、多くの人が、彼女たちの背中を押した。
