11月3日に大分県中津市で400メートルある大きな綱で大分対福岡の100人対100人の大綱引きが行われた。

このユニークなイベントは土木関係者が企画し1986年から91年まで川にある実際の県境で綱引きを行っていた。

決戦らしくほら貝の合図で綱引き開始、お互い力を合わせて一斉に綱を引き、県境を越えた交流を深めていた。
