座布団
座布団とは、日本で伝統的に使われてきた、クッションのような道具です。厚さが数センチ程、一辺が50から60センチ程の、ほぼ正方形をしており、寝具の布団を小さくしたような形状です。
座布団はクッションとは使い方が大きく違います。クッションは背中や腰に当てたり、横に置いたりしますが、座布団は畳や床に座るときに膝や脚、おしりの下にあてがいます。座布団は座り心地をよくするだけでなく、床に直接座ることで体温が奪われないようにする役割もあります。
