宮城県丸森町で「猫神祭」が開幕し、多くの人々が地域に伝わる養蚕の守り神「猫神様」文化を体感した。
猫耳が付いた鳥居の「猫神社」で来場者が手を合わせて猫の幸せを祈願、猫の石碑をプリントした洋服等が販売された。
観光案内所スタッフは「猫神様文化を知ってもらえればうれしい。実際の石碑も巡って、丸森を周遊してもらいたい」と話した。
