(ｆｏｕｒ　ｓｃｏｒｅ　ａｎｄ　ｓｅｖｅｎ　ｙｅａｒｓ　ａｇｏ) Four score and seven years ago (ｏｕｒ　ｆａｔｈｅｒｓ　ｂｒｏｕｇｈｔ　ｆｏｒｔｈ) our fathers brought forth (ｏｎ　ｔｈｉｓ　ｃｏｎｔｉｎｅｎｔ，　ａ　ｎｅｗ　ｎａｔｉｏｎ，) on this continent, a new nation, (ｃｏｎｃｅｉｖｅｄ　ｉｎ　ｌｉｂｅｒｔｙ，　ａｎｄ　ｄｅｄｉｃａｔｅｄ) conceived in Liberty, and dedicated (ｔｏ　ｔｈｅ　ｐｒｏｐｏｓｉｔｉｏｎ　ｔｈａｔ　ａｌｌ　ｍｅｎ) to the proposition that all men (ａｒｅ　ｃｒｅａｔｅｄ　ｅｑｕａｌ．) are created equal. (ｎｏｗ　ｗｅ　ａｒｅ　ｅｎｇａｇｅｄ) Now we are engaged (ｉｎ　ａ　ｇｒｅａｔ　ｃｉｖｉｌ　ｗａｒ，) in a great civil war, (ｔｅｓｔｉｎｇ　ｗｈｅｔｈｅｒ　ｔｈａｔ　ｎａｔｉｏｎ，) testing whether that nation, (ｏｒ　ａｎｙ　ｎａｔｉｏｎ) or any nation (ｓｏ　ｃｏｎｃｅｉｖｅｄ　ａｎｄ　ｓｏ　ｄｅｄｉｃａｔｅｄ，) so conceived and so dedicated, (ｃａｎ　ｌｏｎｇ　ｅｎｄｕｒｅ) can long endure. (ｗｅ　ａｒｅ　ｍｅｔ) We are met (ｏｎ　ａ　ｇｒｅａｔ　ｂａｔｔｌｅ－ｆｉｅｌｄ) on a great battle-field (ｏｆ　ｔｈａｔ　ｗａｒ．) of that war.
