伏見稲荷大社
伏見稲荷大社は、京都市伏見区にある神社です。
稲荷山の麓に本殿があり、稲荷山をご神体とします。全国に約3万社あるといわれる稲荷神社の総本社です。
商売の神様として昔から信仰を集め、正月の参拝者は約250万人と西日本で一番です。
奥社に至る参道は、千本鳥居として有名ですが、その数はお山全体で10,000基といわれています。奥社迄の233メートルの山登りは2，3時間のトレッキングとなるので、外国人にも人気一位の観光地です。
また夜間はライトアップされます。途中の四ツ辻という展望台から京都の夜景も楽しめます。
稲荷神社の神の使いはきつねです。神話によればキツネの好物といわれる油揚げを使ったうどんやお寿司が参道の名物です。
