サッカーJ1はヴィッセル神戸が25日勝って、阪神淡路大震災の起こった1995年のクラブ創設29年目で初めての優勝を果たした。
その後神戸市で行われた祝勝会では、吉田孝行監督などが鏡開きをしたあと選手たちが一斉にビールかけを始め優勝を祝った。
神戸市中央区のJR元町駅の駅前では、午後5時半ごろから地元の新聞社の号外1500部が配られ、道行く人たちが次々に受け取っていた。
