神戸の南京町では、爆竹を合図に、恒例のランターンフェアが始まり、点灯式で獅子舞が披露された。
1996年に始まった南京町のランターンフェアは、東洋の光の祭典として毎年クリスマスの時期に合わせて12月25日まで開催されている。
会場では、400個以上の中国提灯に明かりが灯され、中華街がクリスマスのイルミネーションとは一味違う幻想的な中国情緒に包まれた。
