男子テニスの元世界ランキング1位で11月に引退するラファエル・ナダル(スペイン)が19日、リヤドで行われたエキシビション大会でノバク・ジョコビッチ(セルビア)と対戦した。
引退前最後の対決で26、67で敗れた後、ナダルは「コート上で分かち合った全ての瞬間に感謝したい。私たちは素晴らしいライバル関係だった」と振り返った。
両者は2006年から数々の名勝負を演じ、今夏のパリ五輪まで計60回対戦し、ジョコビッチが31勝29敗だった。
