菱川師宣記念館で開催されている企画展「おもしろ浮世絵展」には、幕末から明治にかけて描かれた浮世絵が展示されている。

会場には世間を風刺したり皮肉を交えたりした作品や、当時疫病がはやったときに描かれた作品やことわざを面白おかしく表現した浮世絵も展示されている。

なかでも、歌川広重の作品は、人が手足や小道具を巧みに使って不思議なポーズを取っているものの、その影を見るとウグイスや松の姿を表しているという遊び心ある作品となっている。
