五・一五事件
五・一五事件は、1932年5月15日に日本で起きた反乱事件です。
武装した陸海軍の青年将校たちが内閣総理大臣官邸に乱入し、内閣総理大臣犬養毅を亡き者にしました。
この事件の背景には世界恐慌からの日本国民の生活の困窮化がありました。
またロンドン海軍軍縮条約が行われ勝手に政府が軍縮を決めたことに対する海軍の不満が起こりました。
こうした状況で大川周明などが国家改造運動を唱え、青年将校たちが複数のテロ事件を起こし始めました。
国家改造運動は、ダメな政治の原因である金持ちや政党を政治から排除して、軍を中心とした全く新しい政治体制を築き上げようとした運動でした。
五・一五事件によって 海軍大将斎藤実を首相とする挙国一致内閣が誕生し、政党内閣が終わりを告げました。
8年間続いた議会で多数を取った政党勢力から総理大臣が選ばれるという政党制のしくみも太平洋戦争の終戦まで行われなくなり日本は軍国主義に進むようになりました。
