太陽の表面で起こる爆発現象「太陽フレア」が連続して発生した影響で、ヨーロッパをはじめ世界各地で「オーロラ」が観測された。

オーロラはスイス、ドイツやアメリカなど世界各地で、日本でも北海道や石川など日本海中心に観測されている。

気象庁の観測所によると、「太陽フレア」で地球の磁気が乱れる「磁気嵐」が通常の10倍以上起きているという。
