テニスのウィンブルドン選手権は今大会から電子機器によるライン判定を全面的に導入し、線審がコートで「アウト」「フォールト」とコールする光景が消えた。
線審の判定は怒鳴りつけて失格になる選手も出るなど、時にトラブルを生んだ。それだけに現場の反応はおおむね好意的だ。
英メディアによると、線審は4分の1ほどに減り、今大会では補助員として機械トラブルの対応や選手の誘導に従事するという。
