広島市の「平和公園」とアメリカ・ハワイ州にある「パールハーバー国立記念公園」は、今月２９日に姉妹公園の協定を結ぶことになった。

戦争の始まりと終えんの地に関係する公園の提携は、未来志向で平和と和解のかけ橋の役割を果たしていくと広島市は述べている。

２０１６年に関ケ原古戦場とアメリカ南北戦争のゲティスバーグ古戦場の国立軍事公園が協定を結んでいて、日本とは２例目になる。
