英北部スコットランドにあるネス湖（Loch Ness）で26日、湖に生息するとされる未確認生物ネッシーの50年ぶりとなる大規模捜索が実施される。
世界中から研究者や熱心なファンが集まるとみられ、探索には、ドローンや赤外線カメラや水中マイクも投入される。
これまでに公式に記録されたネッシーの目撃情報は1100件以上になり、ネッシーの経済効果は年間数百万ポンドにもなるといわれる。
