ことしの新語・流行語大賞が発表され、年間大賞には、阪神の岡田彰布監督が優勝を表現し話題となったことば、「アレ（A.R.E.）」が選ばれた。
選考委員特別賞にはお笑い芸人の「とにかく明るい安村」さんがイギリスのBGTで披露して話題となったフレーズ、「I’m wearing pants！」が選ばれている。
ベスト10には地球沸騰化、ペッパーミルパフォーマンス、生成AI、首振りダンス、OSO18等の言葉が選ばれたが、残念ながら大谷選手の言葉は入らなかった。
