インド当局が中国のスパイの疑いがあると捕獲していたハトが、動物愛護団体ＰＥＴＡの介入で８カ月ぶりに釈放された。
ムンバイの港の近くで捕獲されたこのハトは、翼に中国語らしいメッセージが書かれていた為警察が押収し、捜査の為動物病院に移送した。
このことを知ったＰＥＴＡは、すぐにムンバイの警察に連絡を取り、正式許可を得て、ハトは病院の構内で医師によって釈放された。
