出産前等の女性で多く分泌されるオキシトシンと呼ばれるホルモンに毛の成長を促す働きがあることを、神奈川県の研究所などがつきとめたと発表した。

グループは毛のもととなる毛包を作製し、オキシトシンを振りかけて観察したところ、6日目でかけなかった場合と比べて、その長さが1.3倍になったという。

研究員は「脱毛症に悩む女性や子どもにも使える薬の開発などに役立てたい」と話している。
