鳥取県鳥取市の青谷上寺地遺跡で出土した人骨を元に、弥生人の女性の顔が復元され、初めて公開された。
DNAの分析で分かった弥生人女性の特徴を挙げると、髪は太くて直毛、肌の色は明るく、眉毛は濃く、二重まぶたで現代人と変わらない顔つきだ。
復顔された青谷の弥生人の顔はこれで成人男性と少年に続いて3人分になり、今後大いに活用されることになりそうだ。
