奄美大島の瀬戸内町や漁協の関係者らが、水深約２０ｍの海底にフランス産の赤ワインなど３種類、あわせて約２００本を沈めた。
この事業に取り組んでいる会社によると、海底のワインは潮流や水圧などの影響で熟成が早まり、通常より味もまろやかになるということだ。
沈めたワインは２０２６年７月に引き上げられ、インターネットで１本２万７５００円から販売されるほか、瀬戸内町のふるさと納税の返礼品に登録されるということだ。
