アメリカ政府はいわゆるUFOについて新たな目撃情報が360件余り報告されたと明らかにし、詳しい分析を進めるとしている。
分析の結果、171件は判断ができず、中には異常な飛行特性や性能を示したと見られるものもあり、さらなる分析が必要だとした。
未確認飛行物体をめぐっては去年5月アメリカ議会でおよそ50年ぶりに公聴会が開かれるなど関心が高まっている。
