イギリス・スコットランドの発祥の地である屋敷の跡地に集まったのは、488匹ものゴールデンレトリバーとその飼い主たちだ。

犬種誕生155周年を記念したイベントには、世界12か国以上からゴールデンレトリバーとその飼い主たちが集まり、コンテストなどが行われた。

BBCによると、そのルーツは、スコットランド高地の険しい地形に合った狩猟犬を求めて、この屋敷の持ち主だった伯爵が交配に成功し1868年に初めて3匹が誕生したことにさかのぼるという。
