ニューヨークのホットドッグ店のネイサンズ・フェイマス（Nathan's Famous）がアメリカの独立記念日に毎年主催するホットドッグ早食い競争では出場者は10分間で食べた数を競う。
女性部門では、今年も須藤美貴（Miki Sudo）さんが51個を平らげ、10回目の優勝を果たすと共に女性部門で世界新記録を樹立したと米メディアが報じた。
海老原まよいさんというユーチューバーが昨年に続き女性2位となり、男性では、58個を平らげたパトリック・バートレッティ（Patrick Bertoletti）さんが新王者に輝いた。
