エジプトの観光・考古省は、首都カイロ南郊で、4300年前のものとみられる、金箔で覆われたミイラが見つかったと発表した。
見つかった男性のミイラは、エジプトで発見された王族以外の遺体としては、最古かつ最も完全な形のものだとみられている。
関係者は今回発見されたものはすべて紀元前25世紀から22世紀ごろのものだと説明し、「この発見はファラオ（王）たちと、その周りに住んでいた人々をつなぐもので、とても重要だ」と語った。
