小野選手は前半22分に交代し、3万1000人余りの観客の札幌ドームは大きな拍手を送り、対戦相手のレッズの選手も一列に並んで花道を作った。
小野伸二選手は引退会見で「満員の中でサッカーをできたことに感謝したい。たくさんのけがもありながら、この日を迎えられて、本当にこんな幸せなことはない」と語った。
