ミュージシャンのポール・マッカートニー（81）がヘフナー社の1961年製のヴァイオリンベースで、ザ・ビートルズの楽曲で使用されその後盗まれたベースギターと51年ぶりに再会を果たした。
2018年にザ・ロスト・ベース・プロジェクトとして大規模捜索が開始され、約6年が経過して遂にベースギターを取り戻しポールはプロジェクトに関わった全ての人に多大な感謝をしているそうだ。
窃盗の詳細も判明し、犯人はあるパブの経営者に売却し、そこからベースギターの行方を何年もかけて追ったところ、遂にイングランド南部の海岸のテラスハウスの屋根裏部屋から見つかったという。
