帯広市の「おびひろ動物園」で牛の仲間、アメリカバイソンの赤ちゃんが約２０年ぶりに誕生し、訪れた人たちに愛らしい姿を振りまいている。
赤ちゃんはオスで、５月２４日に母親「サクラコ」と父親「グラン」という北海道ではおびひろ動物園で唯一飼育されているアメリカバイソンの間に生まれた。
赤ちゃんは展示施設で、軽やかに走ってみせたり、母親のまねをして草を小さな口でほおばったりするなど愛らしい姿を見せて訪れた人たちを和ませていた。
