池田理代子さんの人気漫画「ベルサイユのばら」のキャラクターをあしらったマンホールのふたが11日、千葉県柏市内の3カ所に登場した。
同漫画は、18世紀終盤のフランス革命を題材にした物語。主人公の軍人貴族オスカルと、実在した王妃マリー・アントワネットらの生涯を描いている。
彼女が20年以上を過ごしたゆかりもあり、市制施行70年記念事業の一つとして市が企画し「柏高島屋」の前などに設置した。
