鹿児島県が、製品として仕上げる前の「荒茶」と呼ばれるお茶の生産量で初めて全国１位になったことが、１８日に発表された。

農林水産省によると、鹿児島県の生産量は２万７０００トンで、一方これまで王者だった静岡県は２万５８００トンだった。

鹿児島県知事は、「この快挙は、関係者の長年にわたるたゆまぬ努力によって成し遂げられたもので敬意を表する」とコメントしている。
