19日、新潟市中央区の新潟縣護國神社に22人の巫女が集まってみくじ上げの神事行った。
巫女が囲む約6万体のおみくじに鈴を鳴らし福を授けると、おみくじが巫女の手によって3回宙を舞った。
神官は「（来年はウマのように）素早く、天高く駆け上がるような年にしていただきたい。願いを込めながら（おみくじを）引いていただければありがたい」と語った。
