ハッピーマンデー制度
ハッピーマンデー制度とは、日本の国民の祝日の一部を、従来の固定日から特定週の月曜日に移動させた法改正です。
この制度は日本で週休2日制が浸透したため始まりました。つまり月曜日を国民の祝日とする事によって土曜日・日曜日と合わせた3連休とし、余暇を過ごしてもらおうという趣旨で制定されました。
この制度によってまず2000年に成人の日とスポーツの日が、次いで2003年に海の日と敬老の日が月曜日に移されました。
また勤労感謝の日も秋の大型連休を作るため月曜日にしようと検討されましたが、新嘗祭という日本古来よりの行事を祀る日でもあるので、実現されませんでした。
また8月11日の山の日は13日から15日までのお盆に合わせて制定されています。12日はジャンボ飛行機が山に墜落し多くの人が亡くなった日なので見送られました。
