平安神宮
平安神宮は、京都市左京区にある神社です。
平安神宮は京都遷都1100年を記念して作られた比較的新しい神社です。平安京最初の桓武天皇と最後の孝明天皇が祀られています。
平安神宮のホームページは英語でも読めます。また京都市は多言語で観光案内のサイトも運営しています。
平安神宮は10月下旬に「時代祭」という京都三大祭りの一つが、また6月初めには薪能が行われます。
平安神宮は見どころが多いです。大鳥居や応天門、大極殿は国の重要文化財です。
有料ですが、池を中心とする明治時代を代表する庭も見られます。明治時代の路面電車も庭に展示されています。
平安神宮の近くには京都国立近代美術館もあって関西を中心とした芸術も見られます。また、その先には湯豆腐料理や疎水、枯山水庭園なども有名な南禅寺があります。
平安神宮では結婚する新郎新婦をよく見ることが出来ます。どうぞそこを訪れて下さい。
