遠野
遠野は岩手県内陸部の都市で、民話の里といわれています。
民俗学者の柳田國男は1910年に遠野物語という遠野に伝わる逸話をまとめた説話集を出しました。遠野物語は英語版があり、英語で日本の民話を読むことが出来ます。
1960年頃の民俗学ブームで注目を浴び、現在遠野市の観光名所のほとんどが遠野物語に関連します。
遠野には数多くの観光地がありますがもっとも有名なのはカッパ淵です。カッパは水の中で暮らすといわれる日本の代表的な妖怪です。
道の駅ではカッパを捕獲できる許可証も買えます。道の駅にはレンタサイクルもあって遠野を自転車で回れます。個人的にはデンデラ野という所に行ってほしいです。
遠野にはいくつか民話に関する博物館もあります。市立博物館では多言語対応音声付きのタブレットも無料で借りられます。
日本の有名な野球モンスターの出身地が遠野の近くにあります。どうぞ遠野に来てください。
