旅館やホテルでは寝巻として使われ、温泉街では浴衣で街を歩く人も多いです。日本情緒の雰囲気を味わえ、かつ、安価で着付けも簡単な民族衣装として、外国人のお土産としても重宝されています。
浴衣を売る店の中には体のサイズの大きな外国人向けの大きいサイズや英語での着付け外語ブックをセットにして売っているところもあります。
