熊本市の2月24日迄開かている「ねこフェス」というイベントでは、猫型のひな人形のほか、肉球型のマドレーヌやチョコレートなど、猫にまつわるグッズ約2500点をそろえている。
会場内には能登地方の商品なども並んでいて、売り上げの一部は、昨年の能登半島地震で被災した猫を保護している団体に充てられる。
また2月22日の猫の日には、会場の外で熊本市を中心に活動する動物愛護団体が保護猫の譲渡会を開催する。
