京丹後市にある「平地地蔵」は高さが５．３メートルもある大きなお地蔵さんで、暖かく冬を過ごしてもらおうと、地元の人たちが冬支度を行うのが毎年の恒例行事となっている。
特注の蓑と頭巾はわらで作られていて、重さは蓑だけでも７０キロはあるということで、地元の人たちは９人がかりで竹ざおやはしごを使って着せた。
愛情たっぷりの暖かい冬装束に身を包んだお地蔵さんは、春までこの姿で大宮町地域を見守るということで、装束を着た姿に地元住民も手を合わせていた。
