北陸先端科学技術大学院大学の研究チームが、は虫類や両生類の腸内細菌が強力な抗がん作用を発揮することを突き止めた。
中でもニホンアマガエルの腸内のある細菌は、マウスに1回投与しただけで腫瘍が完全に消失し、確認できなくなったと報告された。
研究チームは「本研究により、天然細菌を用いた新しいがん治療法の可能性が実証されました」と述べ、今後は他のがん種への適用拡大などを進める予定としている。
