大関琴ノ若が、両国国技館での勧進大相撲で、祖父の元横綱琴桜の化粧まわしで土俵入りに臨んだ。

父で師匠の佐渡ケ嶽親方によると、「彼は祖父と顔がそっくりなので、祖父が土俵に上がったのかと思った」と語った。

夏場所から琴桜のしこ名を襲名する予定で「今回初めて見た。不思議な感覚だ。残っていることがすごい」と話した。
