ジャパロニアという桐の一種の木が温暖化対策に注目を浴びている。
この木は通常の木の二倍の二酸化炭素を吸収する上、球根菌というカビの一種と共生すると驚異的に大きくなる。
4年で高さ15メートル、幹の直径が40センチになるこの木は、通常の桐同様、家具等の材料にできるとという。
