落語
落語とは、日本の大衆芸能の一つです。おもしろおかしい話で聴衆を笑わせ、終わりに「落ち」という機知にとんだ結びで終わる話芸です。
落語家は、扇子と手ぬぐいだけを小道具にして、会話と動作のみで観客を物語世界へいざない展開していきます。
落語の題材は江戸時代から続く古典的なものや、現代の新作のものがあります。
日本には日本語落語だけでなく、英語の落語をする人達もいます。関東と関西にそれぞれ英語落語の団体があり、落語の公演や動画も見られます。
落語に似た話芸に講談があります。講談とは、演者が小さな机の前に座り、張り扇で机を叩いて調子を取り、軍記物や政談など主に歴史にちなんだ読み物を観衆に対して読み上げるものです。英語の講談も舞台や動画でも見られます。
英語落語は中高生の英語の授業でもよく取り上げられます。英語落語のCD付きブックもたくさん売っています。英語落語を覚えて周りの人に披露してはどうでしょう?
