日本画
日本画は、日本の伝統的な様式を汲んだ絵画です。
日本画は明治期に洋画が発展するなかで洋画と対比するため生まれた概念で、多くは岩絵具や和紙、絵絹などの伝統的材料や技法が用いられ、彩色画と水墨画に分けられます。
日本画という言葉は美術史家のフェノロサが1882年に初めて使いました。その特徴は１に写真のような写実を追わない、２に陰影が無い、３に輪郭線がある、４に色調が濃厚でない、５に表現が簡潔である、などです。
日本画家で有名なのは竹内栖鳳、横山大観、上村松園、東山魁夷等で、現在活躍されている人には千住博や松井冬子がいます。
日本画を見に行くなら東京と京都の国立博物館、山種美術館や福田美術館がいいです。
