2004年に洲本市で化石見つかった新種の恐竜「ヤマトサウルス・イザナギイ」のフィギュアが完成し、 市内の小学校に贈呈された。
ヤマトサウルス・イザナギイは、体長7メートルから8メートルあったとみられおよそ7200万年前の地層から化石が見つかり、2021年、新属新種の恐竜と判明した。
40分の1サイズのフィギュアは市内の小中学校あわせて18校に贈呈されるということで市教委は、ふるさと学習に役立ててほしいとしている。
