和歌山市
和歌山市は、和歌山県の北部に位置する県庁所在地及び最大の都市です。
江戸時代には徳川御三家の一つである和歌山藩の城下町として栄えました。和歌山城は桜や紅葉が綺麗です。近くのわかやま歴史館、県立博物館では城や和歌山の歴史などを知ることが出来ます。
和歌山市は寺社仏閣も有名です。美しい和歌浦湾が遠望出来る桜の名所紀三井寺、ひな祭りの人形の多い淡嶋神社、豪華な装飾の紀州東照宮は人気です。
和歌山マリーナシティではシーフードの楽しめる黒潮市場やポルトがるのテーマパークもあります。フェリーに乗ればかつての軍事要塞で現在アニメの聖地である友ヶ島もあります。
和歌山市周辺も人気の場所が多いです。りんくうタウンのアウトレットモール、安眠の神様の日根神社、忍者と関連する根来寺、漆器の街の黒江の町並みを私は勧めます。
食べ物は和歌山ラーメン、クエ鍋、めはり寿司が名物です。お土産には和歌山の特産品である梅うどん、ポン酢などみかん製品がお勧めです。和歌山を訪れるのを楽しんで下さい。
