駅弁
駅弁とは、鉄道駅や列車内で販売されている鉄道旅客向け弁当を指します。
海外にはお弁当というものがありません。ランチボックスはあっても、中身はせいぜいサンドイッチ程度。日本のように、既にひとり分の弁当箱に、ひとり分のおかずやお惣菜が詰められた弁当を外出先で食べる文化がありません。また、お弁当のよいところは、電子レンジで温めて食べることもありますが、冷たくても美味しいことです。
駅弁はその土地の名産品がコンパクトに集まっていることが多く、食べる観光といっていいです。その土地に寄らなくても、そこの名産品を味わえます。
特に東京駅には日本各地のお弁当が集まります。2022年に売れた駅弁のベストスリーは一位から山形県の新杵屋の牛肉弁当、青森県の吉田屋の鮭とイクラの弁当、群馬県の荻野屋の釜めし弁当です。
また、JR東日本のアンケートでは、2018年の訪日外国人に最も人気が高かったのは宮城県のこばやしの牛タン弁当でした。
JR西日本は外国人のアンケートはありませんが、全体で福岡県の東筑軒の鶏肉弁当が一番人気でした。
また駅弁の中にはカワイイ容器のものもあって容器をお土産として持って帰れます。それぞれの土地の駅弁をどうぞ楽しんで下さい。
