新潟県燕市で還暦から２０年の節目となる満８０歳になる人たちを祝う熟年成人式を開催し今年は２３人が出席した。

１９４３年から１９４４年に生まれた今年の熟年成人は、高度経済成長期を支えてきた世代で、祝賀会が４年ぶりに再開された。

今年の出席者が２０歳の頃の1964年の新潟地震が起こったので、能登半島地震に思いを馳せながら出席を決めたという人もいた。
